Job Descriptions..what do you do?

Hi All,

Do you keep job descriptions confidential? If not, or if so what parameters do you use? For example, a VP wants to see a JD for a director in another division.

We keep job descritions in a protected file that only allows management to view. We don't show them to general employees, except in certain circumstances with management approval.

One more thing, management's job descriptions are only all viewed by upper management, our Board of Directors and HR. If another manager wanted to view a fellow manager's jd, they would have to have approval from upper management.

We keep all job descriptions confidential! If the manager has a legitimate business reason and approval for the requested job description, then we would let the requesting manager see the job description. Hope you find a solution to your situation.
