People are strange today. I placed an ad on Career Builder for an Inventory Control Supervisor. I am in the process of calling some of the applicants. Called this one guy, who had a backforund similar to what I was looking for.

I asked him if he was currently employed. Nope. Where was the last place you worked? XYZ Co. Your resume shows that you left there in 2003. Yep. I had a heart attack, had to recuperate and then had to go to rehab. I am ready to go back to work now.

I see you had positions as a Vice Pres in 1991 and Material Manager. What is your salary range? Its flexible, I'm open. Hmmmmmm. Well, this position pays in the $30's to start. Then he says that is what clerks receive and he would not work for less than $55000.

The guy's been unemployed for 4 years. I would think a job, any job would be better than zero. Get your foot in the door? Go figure. Is it me?

Some people insist on starting at the top instead of working their way up like the rest of us do - probably explains why he isn't employed.

Recuerate and then rehap for four years, he probably has it worked out to still be receiving LTD.

You got to wonder what motivates people. Obviously not working is working for him. Sounds like you made him a reasonable offer.

What are the odds he'll call me back? He has had the whole week end to think about our conversation. Maybe he even told his wife and she proceeded to kick his posterior.
