Expat Assignment Ends but Remains in Host Country

Has anyone ever experienced a situation where the expat married a local national (had children) and later turned in their resignation with the intent to remain and live in the host country?  What implications should we be aware of due to the expat not returning to the home country?

no we have never experienced that issue. you should look into the that country's rules on immigration/employment to see your obligations on notifying it of a change in employment status just in case that former employee plans to claim to be employed by your company.
